Last week, an event gathering up to 80 Ferrari Monza SP1 and Monza SP2 cars was held. The journey starts from Milan and the destination is the center of Maranello. These 80 cars formed the first Icona Cavalcade team and took part in a five-day journey to Ferrari’s Maranello center. In fact, from Milan to Maranello it only takes a few hours to drive, but this journey is much more meaningful with interesting destinations and activities.

Icona Cavalcade recently held a celebration bringing together the largest Ferrari Monza collection ever with owners coming from more than 20 countries around the globe to participate in a program that started at the Monza racetrack and ended Finishing at the Ferrari Fiorano racetrack.

Launched in 2019, Monza SP1 and SP2 are the predecessors of the Ferrari Icona line, up to now this car line has models such as the V12 Ferrari Daytona SP3 with a mid-engined engine similar to the sports racing cars of the 1960. The Monza SP1 and SP2 were inspired by barchetta racing cars like the 1948 Ferrari 166 MM and many other racing cars that rolled out of the Maranello factory in the 50s and early 60s. The Monza was equipped with an engine. The naturally aspirated V12 engine is similar to that found in the 812 Superfast and can take the iconic Ferrari to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of up to 299 km/h.

The 5.793km Autodromo Nazionale Monza was the first permanent racetrack built in Europe despite its 4.25km high-speed oval section, where Phil Hill won the Formula 1 world championship. 1961 has been abandoned since 1969. Modern supercars had the opportunity to conquer the historic racetrack, after which the convoy had the opportunity to display at the Villa Reale of Monza.

In the days that followed, the Cavalcade journey continued through the historic squares of Bergamo, Cremona and Stresa, followed by the convoy along the clear waters of Lake Maggiore (where three Borromean islands, built as residence for the aristocratic Borromean family of the 17th century) and Lake Varese. From here, the convoy continued through the Reggiano Apennines Mountains, stopping by Pietra di Bismantova and Quattro Castella on the way before arriving at the final destination, the Ferrari factory in Maranello.

The last day is the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Ferrari brand and this event will be held with customers and collectors. The Monza SP1 and SP2 cars took to the circuit at the famous Fiorano circuit. The 80 cars of the strong Cavalcade event spent five days of Ferrari’s traditional celebrations across northern Italy, thereby providing customers and members of the brand with truly memorable experiences. and very valuable.

Ferrari’s speedster duo is developed on the basis of the 812 Superfast with a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine block in front. This engine block provides the car with 810 horsepower and maximum torque of 719 Nm. This power is transmitted to the rear wheels of the car through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with Formula 1 racing technology, thanks to which the Monza SP1 and Monza SP2 can reach a speed of 100 km/h in just 2 seconds. 9 seconds and the maximum speed the car reaches is 300 km/h. Ferrari says this is the commercial supercar that feels most similar to a Formula 1 racing car that the company has ever produced.
