For a long time now, not many Bugattis have left headquarters with the same design and color scheme. With a minimum value of up to millions of dollars, each Bugatti is created to become a special work of art. That’s why the brand’s long tradition of personalization and coachbuilding has gone hand in hand with customers to bring them the most complete work possible. Furthermore, with the launch of Sur Mesure’s personalization department, providing designs that easily satisfy customers is no longer a difficult task.

In recent times, the number of Bugattis with new carbon fiber finishes, hand-painted motifs and luxuriously embroidered leather cabins has been increasing thanks to the close cooperation between Bugatti customers and the Sur team. Mesure. Recently, the Bugatti brand revealed two new car models launched with the cooperation of the Sur Mesure department: Chiron Super Sport and Chiron Pur Sport with elaborate and sophisticated hand-painted “Vagues de Lumière” paint. .

These patterns are very familiar on many previous Bugatti cars, which is why the brand can masterfully apply inspiration from light. Regardless of any operating conditions or circumstances, the paint layer with these unique patterns helps the car models stand out. Best of all, no two cars will have the same color scheme when equipped with the Vagues de Lumière pattern.

One of the first Chiron Super Sport cars delivered to the new owner was decorated with this unique inspiration. The “Vagues de Lumière” motifs are hand-painted with a California Blue base coat and covered with sculpted lines in Arancia Mira and this decoration process takes a lot of time. The horseshoe grille is numbered 38 at the owner’s request and is finished with other impressive details such as the Arancia Mira magnesium wheels and engine compartment lettering. The car’s interior is also covered in luxurious Arancia Mira leather.

Next to this model is the Hypercar Chiron Pur Sport. This car is also finished with an artistic handcrafted finish inspired by light. On the exterior, the car’s body is finished in Blue Carbon blue with Nocturne stripes surrounding the body. The Tricolor of the French flag adorns each side of the rear spoiler. In the front grille, the number 9 is painted on the French Racing Blue horseshoe grille. The car’s interior is upholstered in a combination of two colors including Beluga Black and French Racing Blue.

The complex process of creating the preliminary design for this particular pattern took about five weeks, starting with creating a number of 2D shapes and then having these shapes applied to the 3D surface of the vehicle. with perfection down to every millimeter. Bugatti’s craftsmen then hand-paint each layer of contrasting colors to create a muted color pattern that provides a backdrop for the reflection of light. Once completed, the car’s paint will be protected with several layers of high-quality coating.

In 2011, Bugatti launched the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport L’Or Blanc model in collaboration with Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin. These patterns help recreate the reflection of natural light on the car’s body, and hand-drawn lines have been applied to the Veyron’s sweeping curves in a Blue color scheme. At the end of 2019, Bugatti produced the Chiron “Zebra 1 of 1” with two unique Titanic Blue and Gunpowder Gray paint colors painted over three weeks and also inspired by natural light.

Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti, said: “The “Vague de Lumiére” paint color applied to these two super sports cars of ours embodies the fundamental philosophy of Bugatti: “craftsmanship, innovation and heritage ”. We always strive to enhance the Bugatti customer experience, from inquiry to final delivery and after-sales services to levels of personalization unprecedented in the automotive world. I am truly excited for the opportunity to see what our customers, along with the Sur Mesure team, create in the years to come.”
