To celebrate the company’s 35th anniversary and the 15th anniversary of the in-house tourbillon movement in 2023, Frederique Constant introduces the Classic Tourbillon Meteorite Manufacture Watch, following the previously released rose gold and stainless steel version that this year.

As its name suggests, the haute horlogerie mechanism features a rare meteorite dial that creates a stunning, “out of this world” setting for the large and meticulously finished minute tourbillon, which spins gracefully at 6 o’clock. This is not only a beautiful sight to behold, but also a testament to the craftsmanship of Frederique Constant’s artisans. Chiseling a meteorite dial, filled with metal and only 0.5 mm thick, requires special skills. To maintain its beauty and enhance its natural gray sheen, it is coated with a thin layer of ruthenium.

The Manufacture Classic Tourbillon Meteorite is presented in a platinum case measuring 39mm in diameter. The display case back shows the in-house FC-980 automatic movement, first introduced in 2008.

The movement demonstrates the technical prowess of the Geneva-based manufacture, distinguished by an exceptionally high level of traditional hand-finished decoration, featuring chamfered and polished edges and perlage. To ensure visual cohesion with the color scheme of the meteorite dial, the movement is also finished in ruthenium, a rarity for Frederique Constant.

Limited to just 15 pieces, the Meteorite Classic Tourbillon is priced at $44,995.
