In a world often measured in fractions of a second, MeisterSinger, a famous German watch brand, uniquely exemplifies a different kind of speed. Their passion for historic watch concepts, especially single-hand watches, is more than just a design choice—it’s a philosophy.

The latest testament to this philosophy is the US-exclusive Benjamin Franklin Edition that implements the design of the historic Benjamin Franklin Watch (1757). The concept of this watch is based on an hour hand that rotates six times a day, instead of twice. Thus, after a 360° rotation, 4 hours have passed. When the hand points straight up it is 4, 8 or 12 a.m. or p.m. Therefore, viewers must know which 4-hour time period they are currently in.

For MeisterSinger, creating this unique one-hand watch was a real joy. The classic 43mm case features a white dial, graphically divided into four quadrants. The bold Roman numerals 1 to 12 are arranged in a spiral toward the center. Even though it moves a little faster than usual, the blue needle in the middle still rotates at a leisurely pace.

The Benjamin Franklin version is powered by the ETA/Unitas 6498 movement, modified to accommodate the 4-hour concept, with a power reserve of 46 hours. You can admire the hand-wound movement and its beautiful decorative details, such as the sunburst-finished wheels, blued screws, perlage and the bridge decorated with Geneva stripes , through the back of the exhibition box.

Limited to 70 pieces, price for the MeisterSinger Benjamin Franklin watch is marked at $5,599.
