This year, Pagani Huayra, a hypercar model with inspiration and name from the wind, will turn 10 years old and to celebrate this special occasion, the Italian supercar company will launch a special upgrade package for Huayra BC at The Monterey Car Week event takes place next week.

In addition, customers can also participate in the company’s parade event at the famous Laguna Seca racetrack.

The Pacchetto Tempesta upgrade package for Huayra BC will further optimize the performance of this coupe with enhanced aerodynamic details on the car’s exterior. Combined with the details on the side air vents and front splitter is a large rear wing with shark fins running along the back of the cockpit. In terms of performance, the car’s power increased by 8% thanks to the new Soft Driving upgrade package. Power now reaches 827 horsepower and 1,100 Nm of torque.

The exhaust system has also been upgraded with four regular pipes and two additional pipes under the car. Pagani also did not forget to refine the suspension parts to help the car have a better driving experience than before upgrading.

Besides the upgrade package for Huayra BC, this event is also the first time the Huayra R is displayed to the public. Pagani launched this car model last March through an online program and at that time the car was just computer images. Now, the car is ready to be shown to the public and paraded with other Paganis throughout the week-long event.

The “heart” of Pagani Huayra R is a completely new V12 engine block, developed by the company in cooperation with HWA AG. This engine block has a capacity of 6.0 liters, is naturally aspirated and has a maximum speed of up to 9,000 rpm, generating maximum power of 838 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. Combined with this engine is a new 6-speed sequential transmission, also developed by Pagani with HWA AG.

Pagani Huayra R has a completely new monocoque frame made with the most advanced composite technology. It also integrates fixed seats to ensure maximum safety for passengers. The car possesses a unique collision absorption structure. This structure includes an anti-roll bar and a front frame made of 41xx aluminum steel alloy designed specifically for racing. Thanks to these improvements, the Huayra R’s chassis has improved torsional stiffness by 16% and bending stiffness by 51% compared to the standard Huayra. This structure also contributes to reducing the vehicle’s weight, helping it weigh only 1,050 kg.

Outside, the exterior of the Huayra R was focused on developing by Pagani to achieve the best aerodynamic efficiency with a target of 1,000 kg of downforce generated at a speed of 320 km/h. The car’s brakes are manufactured by Brembo with discs made of ceramic alloy – carbon fiber measuring 410 mm on the front wheel and 390 mm on the rear wheel. In terms of safety, Pagani has designed the Huayra R to comply with the most stringent requirements set by the FIA for the GT car segment. The vehicle’s cockpit also features a racing steering wheel designed for quick installation and removal, integrated brake and traction control switches, a radio system and other important functions. Electronic displays are also used. Because the seat is integrated into the body of the car, the pedal set made by AP Racing will be a moving assembly to adjust the sitting position.

According to Pagani’s announcement, the Huayra R will only be produced in a limited number of 30 cars with a starting price of 2.6 million Euros, excluding taxes. Car buyers will be invited to special events held at many famous racetracks around the world.
