Pagani recently launched a unique car model with only 5 units produced called Huayra Codalunga. According to the name, surely everyone recognizes that this car is developed based on the platform of the Hypercar Huayra model, but the appearance of the car has been completely redesigned. More specifically, the rear of the car has been lengthened with distinct rounded lines.
To “launch” this model, Pagani had to develop it for about 2 years, based on the requests of some special customers for a “Long tail” Huayra. The Pagani Huayra Codalunga was created by the in-house coachbuilding experts of the Italian Hypercar brand Grandi Complicazioni. The car is a tribute to the beautifully designed cars of the 60s.
“All Pagani projects are born from visions and dreams,” said Hannes Zanon, commercial director of the Pagani brand. Even some of Pagani’s most unique and iconic models come from the visions and dreams of customers.” He also added: “Pagani Automobili is capable of developing these bespoke projects for individual customers, even looking like the Coachbuilder cars of the 60s but still consistent with the lines Modern, equipped with state-of-the-art technology more suitable for the times.”
This Hypercar model has an overall appearance that is 360 mm longer than the standard Huayra Coupe. Huayra Codalunga is equipped with the familiar Pagani V12 engine with the ability to produce 840 horsepower and 1,100 Nm of torque. The car is also equipped with an extended titanium exhaust system with an extremely light weight of only 4.4 kg. The car’s exhaust system is also equipped with a ceramic coating to pay tribute to the racing cars that ran at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
Overall, the car weighs only a total of 1,280 kg and has been developed with an extremely aerodynamic design. The car’s four front and rear active spoilers have been fine-tuned to help Huayra Codalunga have better road grip even at high speeds. As for the overall design, Pagani said his team tried to remove details instead of adding new design details. In addition to increasing the car’s length, the car’s appearance has been simplified while also possessing more sexy curves.
“We designed the Huayra Codalunga to be longer and smoother, as if it were molded by the wind to design even more elegant lines than the original coupe,” said Pagani. We took inspiration from the long tails of the 1960s race cars that raced at Le Mans.”
The car’s exterior paint and decoration colors are also inspired by the design trends of the 1960s. Although the car’s cockpit retains exposed carbon fiber structural details, the interior The car’s interior has been covered with colorful woven suede layers towards a classic style. Meanwhile, the brand also offers the car exterior paint colors with matte or satin surfaces to help highlight the car’s simple design lines.
The brand will only produce a total of 5 units and each Pagani Huayra Codalunga will have a starting price of 7 million Euros ($7.35 million at current exchange rates). However, all 5 of these cars currently have owners.
