Manhattan’s most influential watch collecting event – WatchTime New York 2023 – is less than a week away. The show’s eighth edition returns October 20-22 at Gotham Hall in Midtown Manhattan: a weekend-long celebration of the world of wristwatches – the brands that make them, the people who love them, as well as stylists and analysts offering rare insights into the unique and thriving industry and subculture of watch collecting. This year, the much-sought-after event welcomes Swiss fashion brand Laurent Ferrier.

For independent watchmaking enthusiasts, this name needs little introduction. Laurent Ferrier’s dedication to excellence has earned the brand a place among the industry’s leading watchmakers and its creations are admired for their combination of technical prowess and Timeless design. These characteristics fit perfectly with the boutique brand’s concept of a sports watch with sleek, dynamic lines inspired by classic motor racing cars. A prime example is the new Grand Sport Tourbillon Pursuit that hits the streets in a streamlined case of ultra-lightweight grade 5 titanium adorned with a cushion-shaped bezel and equipped with an integrated three-link bracelet.

The gradient salmon pink dial blends beautifully with the matte finish of the 44mm case, which is 13.4mm thick and water-resistant to 100 meters. It displays small seconds at 6 o’clock along with Laurent Ferrier’s signature elongated teardrop hour markers and “Assegai” hands, both coated with luminescent material.

You can admire the named one-minute tourbillon on the back of the case. Its cage takes center stage in the architecture of the genuine manual-winding caliber LF619.01 equipped with dual balance springs. Operating at 3Hz, it boasts an 80-hour power reserve and displays sumptuous decorative details, such as polished ruthenium-coated bridges and meticulously chamfered corners.
