GTO Engineering recently revealed the next model in the automaker’s famous “Revival” series of models. This is a simulated remake of the legendary Ferrari California Spyder Revival as part of this year’s world-famous Goodwood Revival event. This model is the reincarnation of the most iconic Ferrari model ever produced. These rebuilt cars can be customized by each customer to their exact specifications. This replica is built based on the design as well as original parts of this 1960 SWB California Spyder which will make its global debut at the upcoming Goodwood Revival on GTO Engineering’s “Over the Road” stand from the 17th to September 19, 2021.
Initially, the Ferrari California Spyder was designed by Pininfarina and perfected by the Scaglietti brand. The California Spyder is certainly one of the most impressive Ferraris to ever roll out of Maranello. The brand only produced a total of 106 Ferrari California Spyders with two versions: SWB and LWB, making the car an extremely rare and sought after collector’s item. To this day, original California Spyders are mostly in expensive collections and rarely appear on the streets.
GTO Engineering’s California Spyder Revival version can be customized in details such as engine, gearbox or options for interior materials and paint color of the vehicle. GTO Engineering’s California Spyder Revival will be equipped with a standard 3.0-liter engine, or upgraded with a 3.5 or 4.0-liter capacity combined with a standard 4-speed or 5-speed manual transmission.
Each vehicle will be handcrafted by GTO Engineering’s manufacturing team and will use parts selected by the production team, with each vehicle taking up to 1,500 hours to build. These rebuilt vehicles are all upgraded with sturdy details with high perfection and are suitable for operating conditions such as increased load-bearing rigidity to ensure stability and safety. compared to the original version.
GTO Engineering’s California Spyder Revival is a perfect revival of the legendary car. Before being built, the design team deliberated for a long time and decided to revive the iconic 1960 California Spyder SWB with equivalent specifications.
One of the greatest Ferraris ever designed, the California Spyder Revival will be carefully crafted by the team at GTO Engineering. The key element in the construction of this model lies in the handcrafted aluminum bodywork produced using GTO Engineering’s own tooling. The interior can be finished in a variety of luxurious leathers and the option of a smaller classic wooden steering wheel is fitted with unique materials.
The GTO Engineering brand launched the Revival product line in extremely limited quantities built to order in 2008. The brand has recorded extremely good sales in some models such as the 250 SWB Revival, 250 Testa Rossa (TR) Revival and the brand expects the next model to be the California Spyder Revival.
“It’s exciting to be able to start talking about the newest model in the Revival Series: the California Spyder Revival,” said Mark Lyon, Founder and CEO of GTO Engineering. The model is one of Ferrari’s most iconic road-going sports cars from the 60s and it’s something we’ve worked hard on in recent years to develop and build on. performance of the 250 SWB Revival and 250 TR Revival models. Feedback from both previous and new Revival customers has been very encouraging and we look forward to working with more owners to create the car of their dreams.”
Price of the GTO Engineering California Spyder Revival is expected to be between £750,000 and £850,000 depending on the original model, final specification, taxes and shipping costs. Each California Spyder Revival can be tailored to each owner’s specific requirements and will be hand-built in the UK with the first cars due to be delivered to customers in late 2021.
