Making its debut at Clock and Wonders 2023, Cartier’s new Rotonde de Cartier Grande Complication lives up to its name with three grand complications: a cleverly framed pocket watch incorporating minute repeater, tourbillon fly and perpetual calendar in precious white gold case. Despite the technical complexity of the 9506 automatic movement, which consists of 578 individual parts, it has a diameter of 56 mm and a height of just 12 mm.
The bezel structure reveals many fascinating details of the internal mechanism, such as the gongs and hammers of the minute repeater. Cartier presents this striking piece in a rock crystal, black obsidian and white gold setting. The owner can attach the chain to carry it through a special hole or use it as a desk clock.
