01 400 7769 4188-Set - Hölstein Edition 2023

Swiss watchmaker Oris was founded almost 120 years ago on June 1, 1904, a date that has become quite important for the brand in many other fields. more ways than one. To commemorate the trademark registration, Oris releases a special limited edition watch of 250 pieces on June 1 every year. Called the Hölstein Edition, this year’s new addition to the yearly growing collection is the Aquis diver’s watch. The Aquis is Oris’ bestseller, this time launching in deep purple and for the first time omitting the date window.

The 41.5mm steel case has a multi-piece construction with beveled bezel and crown. The unidirectional bezel features a gray ceramic layer that complements the cool tones of the steel exterior. On the back of the case is an engraved limited edition number along with a printed illustration of Oris bear wearing a diving suit. While somewhat bold, this image refers to the diving capabilities of the watch, which is water resistant up to 300 meters.

The brand’s notable debut is the vibrant purple color that covers the dial. The purple surface is an uninterrupted backdrop for the silver-tone hands and indices, all of which are coated with Super-LumiNova® to ensure maximum legibility. The bright color of the dial is really its highlight, as the brand chose a fairly simple layout, without complications or frills.

Powering the watch is the caliber 400, an automatic movement with improved precision and enhanced anti-magnetic capabilities compared to its predecessors. The main difference in this movement is the removal of the date indicator. Although previously a signature element of the Aquis, the Oris wearer community asked the brand to remove this feature from the model, and their wishes were heard loud and clear. Capable of displaying hours, minutes and seconds with a precise chronograph and stop seconds device, the movement has a power reserve of 120 hours.
